Epcos has developed a new series of SMT transformers to meet the requirements of VDSL2 networks. The transformers support high transmission rates of up to 100 Mbps and offer a large 138 kHz to 17 MHz bandwidth.
Because of their good linearity and low leakage inductances, as well as low parasitic capacitances, they can operate with very low distortion and small losses. The transformers are specifically impedance-matched to the new VDSL2 chipset, which carries the VINAX designation from Infineon Technologies. Types B78417A1922A003 and B78417A1937A003 were developed for use in the digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) in the central office or in the customer premises equipment.
