Statistical analysis and user-configurable features added to power meter

20 September 2006 Test & Measurement

Agilent Technologies has improved on its P-Series power meters, adding new capabilities. The Agilent N1911/12A P-Series power meters are claimed to provide accurate and repeatable wide-bandwidth peak power measurements for the aerospace and defence, wireless, and communications markets.

The Agilent N1911/12A P-series power meters' new features include:

* CCDF (complementary cumulative distribution function) statistical analysis in tabular format - a high-speed, low-cost CCDF measurement solution.

* Sensor backward compatibility compatible with the Agilent 8480, E441xA and E9300 series, providing more choices in switching between sensors, protecting customer investment.

* User-configurable rise time, fall time and pulse period measurements, providing measurement flexibility for all kinds of measurement signals and applications.

* Automatic pulse period, PRI and PRF measurements provide the key measurement parameters customers need.

Says Steve Alves: MD of Concilium Technologies, the local distributor, "With more and more emphasis on wireless connectivity, it is becoming critical that the 'bursted' nature of the signals are captured and analysed correctly. The enhancements to the already popular P-Series power meters will give peace of mind that one's signals are within the expected burst profiles."
