World of Photonics tradeshow will feature 'Light at work'

4 October 2006 News

For those who use technology in the area of manufacturing and production engineering and are looking for the latest information on laser applications and laser systems technology, attending LASER 2007 World of Photonics is a must. Since the event was launched onto the market in 1973 with 'Lasers and Laser Systems for Manufacturing', LASER World of Photonics (www.laser.de) has been presenting the emerging trends and possibilities for applying laser technology in manufacturing.

From 18-21 June 2007 in Munich, Munich Trade Fairs International is gathering the world's leading companies in this field as exhibitors and attendees at the tradeshow for optical technologies.

The use of lasers has become an everyday practice in many fields. For a long time now, the LASER trade expo has been accommodating this trend and continually expanding the exhibition area covering lasers and laser systems for manufacturing. In this way, system providers from all over the world can present their innovations, generate contacts within the industry and maintain existing relationships.

The large number of application sectors that the attendees represent indicates just how wide the spectrum of production engineering is that the tradeshow presents: precision engineering and mechanical engineering, machine tool manufacturing, optics, electronics, motor vehicle engineering, medical device technology, metal and plastics processing, printing, aerospace, the chemicals and pharmaceuticals industry, monitoring and the defence sector.

LASER 2007 will include an event dedicated to the theme of 'Light at Work'.

Industry workshops - which have been designed as practically oriented, half-day application seminars for project engineers and manufacturing staff as well as for salespeople - will be providing information on industrial applications. They will be covering such topics as 'Safeguarding processes and sensor technology', 'Micromaterial processing' or 'Welding and cutting with inovative solid-state lasers featuring excellent beam qality'.

Taking place in parallel with LASER 2007 is the 'World of Photonics Congress'. This application-oriented Lasers in Manufacturing (LIM) conference will be presenting topics such as 'Laser macromachining: process optimisation and inovation, quality assurance' and 'Micromachining: manufacturing strategies, semiconductor manufacturing, new materials'.

The 'Laser Marketplace' has been established as an industry forum for laser technology. It covers such topics as the market and technology, applications, and new beam sources. The special 'Photons in production' show presents application examples, live demos and technical lectures on the use of lasers as a high-tech tool in industrial production.
