Energy consumption minimised for the soldering process

For many years now, SMT, in Wertheim, Germany, has placed much importance on low energy consumption. With the updating of its product range, the company has applied its energy-saving policy, thanks to a series of changes and innovations.

The most important factor for successful energy management, is efficient heat transfer. With SMT's Power Nozzle technology, optimum process gas conveyance is achieved. The combination of high fan performance with low flow speeds ensures very good temperature stability in the soldering chamber. Soldering success is achieved in addition to the energy-saving effect.

Another energy-saving feature is the zone separation. Adjusted to the respective module and its specific requirements, the process temperature is efficiently controlled only in the zone that it is actually needed for an optimum soldering result. Unnecessary heating of the adjacent zones is thus eliminated.

SMT has also compiled and successfully implemented an energy balance for process gas purification. Instead of the usual condensation process with all its cooling equipment, the gas is cleaned by feeding it through a granulate. This is easily disposed of without any complicated purification process needed.
