Mean Well has introduced its RSP-1000 series – a 1000 W enclosed type switching power supply with power factor correction (PFC) and parallel function. Intended for the 1U low profile and high wattage applications, it features a high 0,65 W/cm² power density, and can provide full output wattage, even at 100 V a.c. input due to its high efficiency design.
The RSP-1000 also has a built-in trimming function that allows the output voltage to be adjusted between 40% and 110% of rated value by adding an external voltage source or resistors. This can provide users with useful flexibility in the design of their end system.
Besides the standard functions of remote sense, remote On/Off control, 5 V/0,5 A auxiliary output, and DC OK signal, the RSP-1000 series uses constant current-limiting as the overload protection, which is advantageous for applications with capacitive/inductive loading. For more power, the built-in active current-sharing function supports high wattage demands as up to three units can be connected in parallel.
Applications include front-end power system, factory automation, instrumentation, moving sign, telecoms and datacoms, etc, where space is limited and high efficiency is required. The 1U low profile unit measures 295 x 127 x 41 mm (LxWxH).
