Advantech ADAM-4501 and 4501D Ethernet-enabled Communication Controller modules, are compact standalone controllers. The next generation of the ADAM-4500 controller, they have much larger SDRAM and flash memory storage. With various I/O interfaces, the ADAM-4501/4501D is suitable for any industrial communication, control, monitoring, automation or measurement application. Additionally, the ADAM-4501D provides a five digit user-defined LED display, allowing customised display functions on the face of the unit.
Versatile I/O and communications
ADAM-4501/4501D provides four serial ports, eight DI/O and one Ethernet port, allowing versatile connectivity for any industrial application. Moreover, these controllers are designed with modularised I/O, allowing Advantech to provide customised I/O options for customers in a short amount of time.
Additionally, they provide built-in HTTP server, FTP server/client and e-mail functionality for advanced remote applications. With the HTTP server, users can monitor ADAM-4501/4501D system and I/O status via a web browser. The FTP server and client give customers the ability to maintain the system remotely and transfer files and data between the host PC and the ADAM-4501/4501D controller. With the e-mail function, customers can send e-mails with critical data (such as alarm messages) to predefined users. These functions allow users to leverage the convenience of Ethernet to empower their systems.
Modbus support
These two controllers also support the most popular Ethernet protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, and DHCP. Moreover, they also support Modbus/TCP (Server/Client) and Modbus/RTU (Master/Slave) protocol. The company also provides necessary libraries and example code to save users development time. The ADAM-4501/4501D can be used in any industrial application that requires a small and powerful controller.
