Power-One's Aspiro 48 V power system, providing shelf-based rectification, battery management, and distribution, utilises digitally-controlled rectifiers that can adapt, without derating, to a wide range of line, load, and temperature conditions. According to the manufacturer, this unique adaptive capability can significantly reduce logistics costs for service providers by enabling a one-solution worldwide deployment to power a wide range of wireline, wireless, and triple-play applications.
Bill Yeates, Power-One's CEO, commented: "Only the Aspiro Power System offers competitive power densities without performance deratings from -40 to 65°C and across an AC input range of 84 to 300 V. In addition, our digitised control and resonant-switching techniques have reduced component count by 40%, increasing reliability and further reducing total cost of ownership for communications service providers."
The universal applications appeal of this product is also enhanced by a 300 mm deep ETSI form factor with 1 and 2 RU height options, NEBS level-3 compliance, Class B EMC, and hardwired ETSI or IEC 320 AC connectors. Distribution options include up to 12 circuit breakers, configurable by distribution and battery, or 10 GMT fuses and optional low voltage disconnects.
With 90% efficiency and 0,879 W/cm³ power density, the 800 W XR08.48 rectifier can deliver 3200 W from a 1U shelf. A 400 W XR04.48 rectifier shares the same 101,62 x 40,6 x 228,5 mm form factor as the 800 W product; reducing initial costs for lower-power systems and simplifying migration paths when more power is needed.
The Aspiro DC power system is well-suited in challenging network deployments requiring a compact, dense footprint such as DSLAM's, Cellular and Wimax Base Stations and in the enterprise.
