0,5 mm profile bi-colour LEDs aimed at membrane switches

1 November 2006 Opto-Electronics

Nicomatic's UltraThin LEDs have been specifically designed for integration into membrane switches. While one-colour versions measure only 3,2 x 1,6 x 0,5 mm, the bi-colour LEDs' dimensions are 3,2 x 2,5 x 0,5 mm enabling the matching of the low profiles of both standard and bi-colour UltraThin LEDs within the same switch. These very low profiles eliminate extra embossing steps and reduce spacer materials.

The chips are available in red/green, red/yellow and green/yellow on tape and reel (in a 1210 package); or, for the one-colour LEDs, in a 1206 package, in white, blue, yellow, orange and green. They are compatible with the infrared and vapour phase reflow-solder process and draw 25 mA.
