Hoffman has expanded its thermal management product offering with Type 4 indoor/outdoor T4 airconditioners designed to provide high-efficiency positive cooling for wall-mount and free-standing enclosures.
This new line offers a wider range of protective capabilities and more BTUs of cooling to protect electronic controls and equipment from potential failure caused by excessive heat inside a sealed enclosure.
"System failure due to inadequate thermal management can have a significant impact on the bottom line, costing the company not only replacement of the controls, but loss of production as well," explained Greg Quick, Hoffman product manager. "Airconditioners and other thermal management solutions are typically less expensive than the components and controls they protect. By proactively addressing thermal needs, companies can significantly minimise potential problems."
T4 airconditioners are available in six models with varying footprints and capacities - from the small 40 x 19 x 16 cm, 800 BTU unit for wall-mount enclosures or enclosures with narrow side walls, to the large 134 x 53 x 33 cm, 20 000 BTU model. Each airconditioner maintains a UL/cUL Type 4 rating.
"Hoffman now provides even more cooling solutions for a broader variety of industry applications and needs," adds Quick. "T4 airconditioners support the entire range of applications from small densely-populated enclosures, to large enclosures housing drives and motors with greater heat dissipation needs."
These closed loop airconditioner cooling solutions are designed and tested to maintain a UL50-rated separation of the external ambient airflow from the sealed cabinet interior. Airconditioners lower the internal enclosure temperature below the ambient temperature, and remove harmful and unwanted humidity from enclosure or cabinet interiors.
All models are equipped with head pressure control for low ambient operation, a compressor heater, coated condenser coil, and thermostat.
