Medical/industrial PCB mount power supplies

24 January 2007 Power Electronics / Power Management

Mean Well has launched another low profile (127 x 76 x 30 mm) PCB type switching power supply to the market. The RPS/D/T-75 series targets medical and IT applications with the requirement of miniature size. The 5” x 3” PCB size has dominated the PCB-type power supply market for many years and Mean Well also offers several models from 45 W, 65 W, 125 W, to 200 W.

The new RPS/D/T-75 series fill the product gap between 75-100 W and provide end-users with a more complete choice for all kinds of applications. Complying with both medical and industrial agency standards, these units can deliver their full rated output of 75 W with only free air convection and up to 100 W with 23,5 CFM forced air provision.

Featuring only 200 μA of leakage current at 264 V a.c., they can be equipped into non-patient contact medical equipment and still comply with Class B per EMI regulations. Standard functions include short-circuit, over-load, over-voltage protection, and the operating temperature can be as high as 70°C under forced air convection.
