Extra-bright, round through-hole LEDs for signs and signals

Avago Technologies’ new series of low-power high-performance extra-bright LEDs for portable and solar-powered outdoor electronic signs and signal applications, are available in red, amber and red-orange colours.

The round through-hole HLMP-Exxx series of 5 mm aluminium indium gallium phosphide (AllnGaP) LEDs provide high luminous intensity with low forward voltage to meet the needs of designers who need a low-power lighting solution.

Typical applications for Avago's HLMP-Exxx series of AllnGaP LEDs include outdoor portable commercial full colour or monochrome signs and marquees, scoreboards, and traffic management signals such as pedestrian signals, and construction zone warning lights. These new LEDs are also suited for use in signs that are solar powered, provide variable messages or use channel lettering.

The HLMP-Exxx LEDs are available in un-tinted, non-diffused, T 1-3/4 packages to provide well-defined spatial radiation patterns at specific viewing cone angles for good readability in sunlight.
