Most computer networks communicate using Ethernet technology. However, the data in systems and machinery is transferred via many different fieldbus protocols. Communication between these systems and particularly with computer networks is therefore complicated and can only be achieved using special software and hardware.
The use of an Ethernet-based communication system in systems or machinery instead of the fieldbus systems that have been used to date, will help solve this problem.
Murrelektronik provides a fieldbus system that already offers a solution for machinery and system installations with protection class IP67 and bus nodes for the popular Ethernet/IP and Profinet I/O protocols. The modular Cube67 is thus opening the gateway for additional connectivity throughout corporate networks. Ethernet not only provides innovative technology, but added value as far as decentralisation is concerned, eg, 'Total Diagnosis'. It is thus possible to monitor systems and localise problems from anywhere in the world, which effectively counteracts expensive downtimes. Data can be retrieved or pre-commissioning I/O checks carried out using any web browser via a web server that is integrated in the bus node.
With Cube67 having all the usual features: parameterisable and plug-in digital and analog inputs and outputs and/or safe outputs, it not only reduces installation time but also the number of components. In conjunction with its compact design, full encapsulation ensures its high protection class.
Murrelektronik also has a modular solution at the ready for the interface between the cabinet and the field in the form of the Modlink MPV control panel coupling.
