Silicone rubber keypads offer designers benefits

Hillcor Holdings has completed five new keypad designs and manufactures the following products:

* A 3 x 4 keypad for prepaid electricity dispensers.

* A two-button keypad for test/reset for electricity dispensers.

* A night design/laser etch for handheld communication and IT units.

* A 4 x 4 key-pad for security and access control.

* A 23 key-pad for remote decoder systems.

Hillcor, which represents Technological Rubber, a leader in silicone keypad development, says that design engineers see the benefits of silicone keypads to enhance their products' aesthetics with cost-effective switching. The use of silicone rubber keypads for control panels are becoming more acceptable to the modern design engineer due to its open-ended design parameters and application needs.

All keypads are tested 1 million times for function and material reliability, with special inks and processes being used on icons or legends to ensure long life. Full sealing can be accommodated with the mechanical design ensuring dust, moisture free units.
