Avnet Kopp to distribute Digi embedded products throughout the country

News
Digi International has appointed Avnet Kopp, a subsidiary of US-based Avnet, as the sole distributor of its Digi embedded products in South Africa. The appointment, which takes effect immediately, means Digi's embedded products in South Africa are now available through Avnet Kopp.
Avnet Kopp was formed in February 1996 when Avnet purchased Kopp Electronics. Avnet Kopp is a national South African component distributor, with its head office in Johannesburg, and branches in Cape Town and Durban.
This is the first time Avnet Kopp has distributed Digi products. Amongst those products now available from Avnet Kopp are the Digi Connect ME and Wi-ME, Connect EM, ConnectCore 9C and Wi-9C, ConnectCore XP and the NS9360 processor, in addition to the rest of Digi's embedded range.
"Avnet Kopp is a very well established and respected distributor that has performed extremely well for our Rabbit Semiconductor line in South Africa," stated Tony Milne, regional manager sales, UK and South Africa for Digi International. "We are confident that our customers will benefit from Avnet's extensive level of expertise in this sector."
"Digi's products will complement our existing line extremely well thanks to their reliability and Digi's unparalleled experience in device networking," commented Dennis Walden, manager, Semiconductor Division at Avnet Kopp. "Supplying Digi's products alongside the Rabbit range will give our customers a wider choice of products for embedded design. This is especially thanks to the strong wireless focus of the Digi range, and the ability to offer fully-supported development environments for Windows CE and .Net Micro Framework, Linux and Digi's hard realtime operating system NET+OS."
