Meissner, sole local agent for Powerware products, has announced the release of the new Powerware 9140 uninterruptible power system (UPS). This UPS is a rack-mounted system with an innovative compact design that delivers reliable and efficient power protection for medium-and-high-density racks in data centres and other mission critical facilities.
The Powerware 9140 is part of a new series of rack-mount products that solve power density and space-saving issues for data centres. It is claimed to be the first UPS of its size to deliver 7,5 kVA to 10 kVA of power protection in only 6U of rack space, including internal batteries.
Unlike many other UPSs of its size and power density, the Powerware 9140 UPS has a lightweight, modular design for easy installation and service. One person, working alone, can install or repair the UPS without disrupting power to protected equipment - significantly reducing maintenance and installation costs. This online UPS also entirely isolates all associated equipment from potential utility power problems, including outages, sags, surges, spikes, brownouts, line noise, frequency variation, switching transients and harmonic distortion. It also features hot-swappable batteries that provide up to 45 minutes of runtime at full load. In the event of an unexpected failure, users can hot-swap the power module while an internal bypass keeps the critical load up and running.
Other key benefits include a front-panel LCD screen, multiple connectivity options, long-lasting ABM battery technology and a choice of management systems. The two line, multilingual front-panel LCD screen displays all essential operational information. ABM technology increases battery life by utilising a three-stage charging technique.
The 9140 UPS can be connected via standard USB and serial ports for remote monitoring over an existing LAN, or, via an optional X-Slot interface, the UPS can communicate with a variety of other systems, devices and UPSs within the existing network.
