Barlow Communications, local distributors for Sage Instruments, a VoIP testing solutions supplier, has announced the availability of the 960B, an advanced and versatile portable test instrument.
The 960B combines TDM (E1/T1), Ethernet (10/100), and analog test interfaces to provide a most comprehensive tool to qualify and quantify voice quality performance, echo cancellation, and in-band data transparency. The 960B provides developers and service provider labs a cost effective means to verify and certify gateways, IADs and IP phones with wrap-around testing and comprehensive call testing focused on bearer channel performance. According to the distributor, it is equally at home in the field and provides service providers and network integrators a sophisticated yet intuitive tool to pre-qualify Enterprise LANs for VoIP service, and actively or non-intrusively troubleshoot in-service problems such as echo.
Says director of marketing, Steve Glassman: "The Sage 960B represents a new generation of cross-over test tools to serve the emerging IP telephony industry. Its powerful realtime test technology will help operators more accurately access voice service performance and more quickly isolate transient impairments such as echo and contiguous packet loss." With its intuitive and extensible graphical user interface and multi-user command line interface, he adds that operators can control one or many 960B instruments or share a single unit. Combined with other Sage test products, the 960B forms end-to-end test solutions for a variety of test applications.
