Rittal has launched its new 3-phase UPS Power Modular Concept 200 with 96% efficiency on the market. The modular, scalable system can be extended during live operation - without having to switch to bypass mode. The benefits include power on demand without having to forego safety.
Rittal's UPS PMC 200 is a plug-in modular system that enables vertical redundancy. In other words, the redundant reserve modules in an uninterruptible power supply can be installed in the same rack. This not only saves on space and costs, it also offers the unusual option of changing or adding modules during live operation, without having to switch to bypass mode. As a result, the UPS is available 24/7 without interruptions, not even for maintenance work. With the 'N+1' redundant design, each module can be exchanged or maintained after disconnection without interrupting operation.
Highly efficient, energy costs are reduced throughout its service life. Efficiency is 96% at full load and over 95% even for partial loads. Its high power density provides up to 200 kW of UPS power per rack - or alternatively, 250 kW/m² floor space. The modular Rittal system is equipped with a maximum of five UPS modules. These modules are available in the power levels 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 32 and 40 kW. This allows customers to only buy as much power as they need at any one time.
The Rittal PMC meets the UPS classification in accordance with IEC 62 040-3. The decentralised parallel architecture (DPA) contains integrated control technology for rectifier, booster, inverter and static bypass.
