HDTV connector eases broadcasters' lives

Fischer Connectors specifically developed the 1053 HDTV Series for HD (high definition) television. It integrates the fragility of fibre-optic technology with the hazardous field conditions of broadcasting. This has presented a real challenge to mainstream adoption of HDTV camera technology.

The connector's design eliminates the difficult procedures of precisely polishing fibre-optic contacts and using special epoxies. Simpler, faster and more convenient, its termination and maintenance can be handled on-site by the user.

Several outside broadcast trucks are already equipped with the Fischer 1053 HDTV range. Major events such as Ski Racing at the Winter Olympics, World Ski Cup and the Football World Cup have been acquired using the 1053 connector.

As a result of its rapid penetration of the HD market, and based on years of experience in the SD market, Fischer Connectors has built a 'tried and tested' value-added HD cable assembly service.
