Vishay Intertechnology’s MicroSMP miniature package type for Schottky rectifiers and transient voltage suppressors (TVS) provides high current power density and low thermal resistance for space savings and improved reliability.
With a low 0,65 mm height and 2,5 mm by 1,3 mm footprint, the new Schottky MicroSMP rectifiers are designed to provide secondary rectification and freewheeling diode functions for miniature AC-to-DC and DC-to-DC converters; flywheel and polarity protection for miniature power converters and portable electronic equipment; and polarity protection of power lines and signal lines for automotive and industrial systems.
The new MicroSMP TVS devices are optimised for power and signal line protection for microprocessors, signal processing ICs, and logic circuits; and high-power voltage regulation for non-sensitive input voltage circuits in automotive and industrial electronics. These new devices improve on all previous TVS products in similar package types by combining ESD transient protection with a superior surge clamping capability, according to Vishay.
Featuring a low forward voltage drop, the six new Schottky rectifiers are rated up to 1 A at a 110°C lead temperature, while the two TVS devices feature a peak pulse current of 100 W at a 10/1000 μs waveform. All devices offer a high 25 A forward surge current capability for an 8,3 ms pulse.
