Vishay Intertechnology has released a series of ultrabright white SMD LEDs that use high-efficiency InGaN technology to provide exceptional brightness in a compact 0603 footprint. At 1,6 x 0,8 x 0,6 mm, the VLMW1100 white LEDs provide cost-effective illumination for backlighting applications. The devices offer an 80° angle of half-intensity, an extremely high luminous intensity ranging from 140 mcd to 280 mcd, and a typical colour temperature of 5500 K. The LEDs feature an ESD-withstand voltage up to 1 kV, in accordance with JESD22-A114-B. The EIA- and ICE-standard 0603 SMD package is leadframe-based for high reliability. The package is filled with a mixture of epoxy and yellow converter. The yellow converts the blue emission partially to yellow, which mixes with the remaining blue to produce white.
