Stackable blue alphanumeric displays

The HCMS-2919 and HCMS-2976 from Avago are dot matrix displays driven by an onboard CMOS IC, which can be directly interfaced with a microprocessor, eliminating the need for interface components. The serial IC interface allows high character count displays with a minimum of data lines. The 8-character, 5 x 7 pixel format allows the user freedom to generate user-defined characters. These displays are stackable in both the x and y directions, making them ideal for high character count displays. They have convenient brightness controls and are TTL compatible. The only difference between the HCMS-2919 and the HCMS-2976 is the character height: 3,71 mm for the former and 4,57 mm for the latter.
