Vishay has released a new series of ultra-bright white SMD LEDs that utilise high-efficiency InGaN technology to provide exceptional brightness in a compact 0603 footprint.
With dimensions of 1,6 mm x 0,8 mm x 0,6 mm, the new VLMW1100 series of white LEDs has been designed to enable smaller products with higher performance, greater flexibility in design, and enhanced applications.
These LEDs provide cost-effective illumination for applications including backlighting in automotive dashboards, switches, and keypads; indicators and backlighting in telecommunications systems, audio and video equipment, office equipment, and indoor and outdoor message boards; and flat backlighting for LCDs, switches, and symbols in general use.
They offer an 80° angle of half-intensity, high luminous intensity ranging from 140 mcd to 280 mcd, and a typical colour temperature of 5500 K. They feature an ESD-withstand voltage up to 1 kV, in accordance with JESD22-A114-B. The EIA- and ICE-standard 0603 SMD package is leadframe-based for high reliability in harsh environments. The package is filled with a mixture of epoxy and yellow converter. The yellow converter converts the blue emission partially to yellow, which mixes with the remaining blue to produce white.
