Cost-effective wind turbines provide alternative energy source

With the power generation problems our country is currently experiencing, a lot of attention is being paid to alternative energy sources. Kestrel wind turbines provide an alternative solution. A cost-effective wind turbine manufactured in South Africa for use by the individual providing solutions for current energy crises, remote locations and back-up supplies when current demands cannot be met. There are currently four models in the range for power outputs of 600, 800, 1000 and 3000 W. Designs include 3 and 6 blade versions which offer output levels between 12 and 220 V d.c. The generated energy would then be sent to a regulator in either a dump or shunt method and be stored in batteries. Full aerofoil blades allow the units to perform at maximum capacity under very light wind conditions.
