The Trend auroraTempo can now be equipped to perform monitoring and analysis functions for V5 and/or ISDN protocols. These options are available for the auroraTempo with E1 interfaces (both V5 and ISDN) and T1 interfaces (ISDN only), and will support dual port operation where dual ports are configured. This new capability can be provided independently of, or to complement, the Tempo's complete frame relay functionality.

The inherent power of the auroraTempo allows full bi-directional monitoring of up to four user-selectable channels per interface, simultaneously. Comprehensive realtime decodes are provided for V5.1/5.2 and an extensive range of ISDN protocols in the respective signalling channels. Bearer channel decode support for X.31/X.25 is also provided.

In addition to the monitoring of channel protocols, the auroroTempo provides an exceptional level of physical interface monitoring and reporting. It will display physical alarms and states with error counters, measurement of frame slips and evaluation of Sa7 bit.

With this additional software capability, engineers need only be familiar with one unit when confronted with the mixed technologies that make up modern circuit switched access networks. For troubleshooting that requires audio monitoring, the auroraSonata or auroraDuet testers are suitable companion tools.
