Blue light-emitting diodes

14 February 2001 Opto-Electronics

A range of blue light-emitting diodes developed by Sanken Electric is now available from Allegro MicroSystems Europe through local distributor AAD.

The LEDs emit light at a wavelength of 470 nm, and are available in two versions with overall package diameters of 3,1 and 5 mm and luminous intensities of 7 and 15 mcd, respectively. They are supplied with untinted, nondiffused lenses.

The devices are designed for 3 V operation, and have a typical current consumption of 20 mA. Operating temperature range is -30 to +85°C.
