LEM has released its CT series of current transducers specifically designed for measuring AC and DC current below half an amp. There are three models in the range, optimised to measure current up to 100, 200 and 400 mA respectively. The units are compact, PCB mounting, operating from a dual 15 V power supply and calibrated to 5 V output.
Applications include earth leakage detection, human contact protection of PV arrays and differential current measurements in three-phase systems. The transducers are capable of measuring AC and DC current, utilising flux-gate technology, with bandwidth of DC to 18 kHz and a response time better than 60 ms.
