Aluminum electrolytic capacitors of the SIKOREL B41554 series from Epcos are specified for continuous use at temperatures up to 125°C. They cover a capacitance range from 1500 to 220 000 µF at rated voltages from 16 to 100 V d.c. Rugged construction with screw terminals (M5) and a maximum current-handling capability of 40 A make these capacitors tough enough for extreme conditions and ideal for automotive applications. They are currently being designed-in for ripple suppression in 42 V systems.
Another feature is their low self-inductance. This varies with size from 10 nH for a can diameter of 35,7 mm to 20 nH for 64,3 mm.
