Exfo's FTB-8115 Transport Blazer is a SONET/SDH module for the FTB-400 Universal Test System and FTB-200 Compact Platform. The combination of advanced SONET and SDH testing capabilities and the small, lightweight form factor of the FTB-200 platform delivers a highly versatile and technically advanced portable SONET/SDH test solution for expanding access/metro transport networks.
The FTB-8115, available in 155 Mbps and 622 Mbps configurations, supports an extensive list of DSn, SONET, PDH and SDH features, allowing users to perform a wide range of tests from simple bit-error rate (BER) analysis to more advanced network characterisation and troubleshooting. In addition, this module offers an upgrade path to 2,5 Gbps and 10 Gbps rates, in order to meet customers' future testing needs. For immediate 2,5 Gbps and 10 Gbps rates, EXFO already offers this functionality through its FTB-8120/8120NG and FTB-8130/8130NG modules, respectively.
Exfo's exclusive SmartMode feature is also available as an option on the FTB-8115. SmartMode provides automatic discovery of the SONET/SDH signal structure and realtime monitoring of all discovered high-order paths as well as user-defined low-order paths. As a result, it represents an ideal solution for quick and simple isolation of network faults.
