Mean Well has added a new 15 W single output series to its high reliability miniature G3 product family. The RS-15 series features the company's smallest AC/DC enclosed type switching power supplies capable of sourcing 15 W using only free air convection for cooling; measuring 62,5 x 51 x 28 mm, they are 20% smaller than the NES-15 series.
The RS-15 can withstand 300 V a.c. input surge for 5 seconds and forces of 5 G, making it suitable for operation in harsh environments. The full output wattage can be provided up to 50°C, while at lower output levels, the power supply can operate in temperatures as high as 70°C. Other standard functions include short-circuit, overload, over-voltage, and over-temperature protections.
Suitable applications include general electronic machinery and equipment, automation, test equipment, small scale LED signs and any other applications where installation space is limited.
