Integrated CAM tool added to P-CAD 2000
14 February 2001
Design Automation
ACCEL will be integrating CAMtastic! 2000 Designers' Edition into P-CAD 2000, a specialised design tool for PCB professionals. This move follows the recent acquisition of Innovative CAD Software by Protel in August 2000.
The acquisition provides ACCEL Technologies with an array of CAM products and technologies that are highly complimentary to the P-CAD product line. The CAM technology allows P-CAD 2000 designers a high degree of control over manufacturing data, reducing the risk of time-consuming and costly fabrication errors.
CAMtastic! 2000 Designers' Edition loads popular CAM formats and provides all the graphical and geometrical tools needed to edit/modify any design. Loading, editing and outputting data is simplified, and with extensive fabrication and assembly tools it allows graceful translation between all commonly used CAM formats. The software delivers the critical information from any Gerber/HPGL/Drill and other file formats and can be used for viewing, printing, conversion, editing, analysing and verifying critical data.
ACCEL says that all existing P-CAD 2000 license holders on current maintenance will be shipped the powerful and versatile computer aided manufacture (CAM) software package, CAMtastic! 2000 Designers' Edition, free of charge.
