The WHA 900 is the latest addition to Weller's family of hot air stations, and is said to be an easy to use, robust and versatile rework tool. Although designed to remove and replace a wide range of electronic components, the WHA 900 can also be used for other hot air applications such as heat shrinking and metal pre-heating in maintenance and assembly operations.
The WHA 900 features precise temperature control from 500°C to 5500°C, while closed-loop temperature feedback control ensures that it maintains a constant temperature at the nozzle, irrespective of the airflow rate, which is independently controllable from 5 L/min to 50 L/min. Heating is fast, with up to 700 Watts of power available. The unit's maintenance-free brushless motor is said to be able to cope with even the most heavy-duty industrial applications.
Integrated and individually programmable standby-modes for both air volume and temperature improve operator performance by ensuring a quick recovery to the set working levels. The new multifunctional safety rest for the hot air pencil is easy to use, can be fixed to the left or right side of the unit and is perfect for heat shrinking applications. Weller also supplies a wide range of hot air nozzles to ensure that the optimum nozzle size for each component can be used at the optimum temperature and airflow.
