STMicroelectronics has released the new M25PX32, a 32 Mbit device that is the first of the sector, sub-sector erase Serial Flash family to be offered with dual I/O. Designed to address the needs of applications requiring high clock frequency, the device guarantees the support of a 75 MHz frequency through the entire 2,7 to 3,6 V supply voltage range and through the -40°C to 85°C industrial temperature range. Thanks to dual I/O, during the fast read phase the dual output command allows the system to double the data transfer bandwidth, effectively clocking the NOR at the equivalent of 150 MHz, again over the full voltage range. In the fast program phase both the input and output pins are used for programming the memory. In addition to device-security features such as protection after power up, the new M25PX32 also features an additional 64 Byte user-lockable, one-time programmable (OTP) area, and the possibility to set the memory as read-only.
