LCDs offer unique colour combinations

17 October 2007 Opto-Electronics

AZ Displays recently announced the availability of a new graphic chip-on-glass (COG) display series AGM1264N. The three standard models have the same dimensions and functions, but differ in background colours: the AGM1264N-FLW-FTS provides black graphics on a white background; the AGM1264N-NLW-BTS provides white graphics on a blue background and the AGM1264N-FL-FTS provides black graphics on a yellowish background.

The displays' 128 x 64 pixel resolution makes them suitable for both graphics and characters, with users being able to display up to eight rows of 20 characters by programming letters of the alphabet and digits with the software interface. The unusual colour effects are achieved by pairing an LCD panel of a certain colour (silver or blue) with either yellow-green or white LED backlights.

The displays can be operated within a range of 2,4 to 3,6 V d.c., with the higher contrast voltage generated with the help of a built-in DC-DC converter and a set of external capacitors. The viewing area is 59,0 (W) x 30,5 (H) mm in a total module size of 70,0 (W) x 43,0 (H) x 6,0 (T) mm.
