Power Electronics / Power Management
Astrodyne has developed two new series of miniature, open-frame modular switching power supplies. In a small mechanical footprint measuring only 50 mm x 100 mm x 30 mm (W x L x H), both the ASM40 and ASM60 series provide power densities greater than 0,366 W/cm³, offering highly economical 40 W and 60 W power solutions, respectively. Designed to meet the space and performance parameters needed in medical and dental instrumentation and systems, both series accept universal inputs ranging from 85 to 265 V a.c. Both series are available in 11 models which provide single and dual outputs of 5 V d.c. to 48 V d.c.
The ASM40 and ASM60 series feature an integral power-good LED indicator and output adjustment potentiometer, and operate over an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50°C without forced cooling or output power derating. All models contain over-voltage and short circuit protection circuitry and internal input filtering. Both series are fully approved to UL/EN60601-1 medical safety specifications, with commercially approved, non-medical versions also available.
