Compact multiple output 100 W AC-DC power supplies

17 October 2007 Power Electronics / Power Management

XP Power's ECM100 series of open frame, multiple output 100 W AC-DC power supplies offers dual, triple and quad output variants with a total of 15 models in the range, and complements the single output versions released previously. Measuring just 114,3 x 63,5 x 30,5 mm, the compact size of the ECM100 series provides a power density of 0,45 W per cubic centimetre.

The ECM100 design features two independent converters providing fully regulated auxiliary outputs. Outputs V1 and V2 are regulated by the control loop whilst V3 and V4 are post-regulated. V3 can be either positive or negative, selected by internal jumper.

These power supplies are suited to applications where space is at a premium and there is little or no airflow. Full power is available with only 5 CFM airflow, and up to 80 W using convection cooling. The ECM100 series is also ideal for use in medical equipment or other applications where low leakage current is a necessity.

All models meet class B conducted EMC specifications EN55011 and EN55022. Safety approvals include UL60601-1 and EN60601-1 for medical systems and UL60950-1 and EN60950-1 for commercial and IT equipment.
