Two new high temperature tantalum capacitors

17 October 2007 Passive Components

Kemet has expanded its T498 high temperature (150°C) capacitor series with the introduction of two new industry-leading CV offerings. While the D Case (7343-31) 47 μF, 16 V rated device has been a popular choice in the automotive industry, designers are now requesting the same value in a smaller package.

With this release, the T498C476_016ZT E800 meets this need by offering the same capacitance and voltage ratings but in the smaller C Case (6032-28) package. Kemet has also raised the bar in higher CV offerings in high temperature applications with the release of the T498X107_016AT E075 and E100. Offering 100 μF of capacitance in a 16 V rating, this X Case (7343-43) design is available in two maximum ESR offerings including a 75 mΩ and 100 mΩ offering. The T498 series was designed to deliver stable and reliable performance in extreme temperature applications such as automotive under-the-hood applications and oil exploration and is rapidly gaining popularity in these industries.
