Mylar sensor film indicates pressure distribution

Sensor Products produces a film capable of measuring and indicating pressure by immediately and permanently changing colour according to the pressure applied. This is conceptually similar to the measurement of chemical acidity using litmus paper and can be applied to virtually any pressure measuring application.
Pressurex film has many uses in multilayer printed circuit board assembly, including analysing contact uniformity and verifying flatness (planarity) between semiconductor wafers and bonding heads. It can reveal problems such as overloading of connector contacts, standoffs and component solder joints. It is also suitable for many industrial applications, such as assessing surface contact inconsistencies in clamps, connectors, heatsinks and heat sealing elements.
Pressurex is available in seven different ranges that measure pressure from 2 to 43 000 PSI (0,14-3000 kg/cm²) and comes in the form of a thin Mylar sheet, physically similar in thickness to paper, that conforms to curvaceous surfaces and invasive intolerant environments.
