Hamamatsu Photonics' new LCOS spatial light modulator, the X10468, features a fill factor of greater than 95%, high diffraction efficiency and high precision phase modulation with high linearity. Compared to the previous generation of spatial light modulators, the LCOS is compact and offers high-speed response, with a rise time of approximately 10 milliseconds.
The X10468 can be used to perform optical wavefront correction, aberration correction and laser beam shaping. There are numerous potential applications for this technology in microscopy, ophthalmology, astronomy, laser material processing, optical memories, laser marking, laser printing, optical tweezers, optical interconnects and more.
