Highly efficient POL buck converter solution

International Rectifier has introduced the iP1206, a fully optimised solution for synchronous buck applications including telecom and networking equipment.

The iP1206 is the latest addition to the iPOWIR integrated power conversion stage product line, designed for two-phase single output applications up to 30 Amps or dual independent outputs up to 15 Amps. Both options utilise synchronised 180° out-of-phase operation, reducing input current ripple and input voltage ripple. The device is comprised of an optimised power stage and a full-function PWM control IC to achieve high power density.

As with all iPOWIR products, the iP1206 is simple to design and easy to replicate across a wide range of voltage and current rails because all of the critical components are integrated and only a few external passive components are required for a complete point-of-load solution.

Features include a switching frequency up to 600 kHz per channel, lossless current limit, over-voltage and over-temperature protection, pre-bias start up, external synchronisation, output voltage tracking and sequencing.
