JDSU has introduced the latest version of its MTS fibre-optic test line, the MTS 6000 LITE.
A highly integrated, non-modular, compact optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) ideally suited for the construction, fault location and troubleshooting/maintenance of FTTx and access networks, the module offers field service technicians a high-performance tool for broadband network quality and reliability testing.
The tester troubleshoots any event that can degrade fibre link quality using one-key functionality that pinpoints any fault on the network. It also detects any fibre bending in the network and improves response rate with a traffic detection function.
For installation and maintenance, the MTS 6000 LITE provides a compact test unit and displays on its colour screen all relevant information required for fibre qualification. The OTDR trace and table are displayed simultaneously, improving troubleshooting in FTTx/access networks by identifying terminations and splice points.
