New 24 V input DC-DC converters

20 February 2008 Power Electronics / Power Management

Vicor has announced the addition of a new 24 V input series for both its VI-J00 and VI-200 families of DC-DC converters. With a wide input range of 10 to 36 V, the modules are targeted for applications operating from 12 V or 24 V inputs. The low-noise ZCS topology greatly reduces the design effort and filtering costs required for power converters to meet agency conducted emissions requirements.

Both families offer 16 different output voltages ranging from 3,3 V to 48 V, with a maximum power of 75 W for the VI-200 Series and 50 W for the VI-J00. Four different environmental grades are available from -10°C (E grade) operating temperature to -55°C (M grade).

Packaging options include a flangeless model (SlimMod), a flangeless model with an integral heat sink (FinMod), and a chassis mount housing with screw/lug wiring interface (BusMod). The modules, which are optionally available in RoHS compliant models, measure a compact 117 x 56 x 12,7 mm for the VI-200 and 57,9 x 61,0 x 12,7 mm for the VI-J00.

This new input range is suited to battery systems in vehicles and man-portable applications.
