ON Semiconductor's NCP1400 is a micropower pulse width modulator (PWM) step-up DC-DC converter that reduces current consumption in handheld games, pagers, cellular phones, digital cameras and industrial equipment.
Designed to operate from input voltages as low as 0,9 V, the NCP1400's output voltage ranges from 1,8 to 5,0 V in 0,1 V increments. Fixed output voltage options include 1,9, 2,7, 3,0, 3,3 and 5,0 V allowing operation in a wide variety of applications. The chip also includes a feedback resistor, voltage reference, oscillator, PWM control circuit and FET switch. The NCP1400 is available in a small footprint TSOP-5 package.
Key features are:
* High efficiency (88% at Io = 10 mA).
* Low quiescent bias current (23 µA).
* Input voltage (start-up) down to 0,9 V; (hold) down to 0,2 V.
* Low output ripple typically 15 mV.
* Output current up to 100 mA at Vin = 3,0 V.
