Miniature, short-travel switches

Rafi has launched a new generation of short-travel key-switches measuring only 5,1 x 6,4 mm. The new Micon 5 series has been designed for use under overlays in membrane keyboards or under individual keycaps.

Offering good tactile feedback, the switches have operating forces between 2,7 and 6,9 N. The contact system is provided with gold contacts and is completely sealed to provide maximum switching reliability even in hostile environments. The switches boast an operating life from 250 000 to 1 million operations, depending on the selected operating force, and operate from -40°C to +90°C.

The height of the switches can be adjusted with plug-on plungers, and keycaps with light conductors are offered to create illuminated actuation areas. The Micon 5 series is available in SMD-J and THT pin versions and is delivered in either blister reel (SMD version) or tube (pin version) packaging.
