14 March 2001 News

Suntronika was formed in August 1977 by Hendry Sun and his wife Lily, as an electronics component supplier to service the needs of the growing South African electronics manufacturing industry.

Suntronika ( www.suntronika.com) occupies its own three-story premises in Johannesburg, that has stores in the basement, reception and retail sales on the ground floor and the computer, accounts, buying and distribution sales on the top floor. Based in the centre of the PWV triangle, the hub of South African industry, Suntronika also services the coastal areas in the Cape Province and KwaZulu-Natal via distributors, as well as directly from Johannesburg with periodic visits by company representatives.

In order to give speedy replies to its large customer base, each of Suntronika's sales staff is linked on-line to its central computer servers. Suntronika is currently upgrading its computer network and is linking up all its terminals to both its Novell and NT servers. This will enable it to offer an even more efficient service.

Many of Suntronika's staff have been with the company for over 15 years and have shown the dedication to help maintain its strong market position.
