Advanced test tool for 10/100/1000 Ethernet

Test & Measurement
Barlow Communications has announced the release of the new ParaScope GigE network troubleshooting tool. The new generation product provides a comprehensive list of features for maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of Ethernet networks including Gigabit.
The tester features a 10/100/1000 Megabit electrical port and 100/1000 Megabit fibre port for both single- and multimode. It has a high resolution TFT colour screen which is viewable in any lighting condition, and its field-replaceable, rechargeable Lithium Ion battery module allows for extended field testing. User-defined test profiles and thresholds are possible, as well as the capability to export test results and control the unit remotely over any Internet connection.
Advanced diagnostics tools include ping, trace route, blink HUB port locator, cable length and optic testing modes. The RFC 2544 Benchmark Test provides the ability to test full line rate 10/100 and GigE performances including throughput, latency, frame loss and back-to-back frame tests. Multiple stream generation and analysis enables QoS verification of services such as triple play by generating constant, burst or ramped layer 2 and 3 traffic for up to 500 stations.
