Miniature RF and DC switching reed relays

The Meder CR Series reed relay utilises an innovative ceramic substrate design with gold plated leads, taking the leads from internal connections to external board connections, eliminating lead frame skewing and co-planarity issues.

Available with or without ball grid arrays, (BGA), the low-profile, patent pending CRF, RF relay and the CRR, DC switching relay, measure only 8,6 x 4,4 x 3,4 mm, have one Form-A contact, and can switch up to 10 W with individual maximums of 0,5 A and 210 V. Typical insulation resistance to all points is greater than 1014 W, with coil to switch isolation of 1500 V d.c. minimum.

The 50 W CRF-Series is capable of switching signal frequencies up to 7 GHz with less than 1 dB insertion loss, as well as fast digital pulses with rise times of 40 picoseconds or greater. The high thermal conductivity of the ceramic substrate makes it an excellent isothermal platform, virtually eliminating thermal offset voltages across the switch. The CR Series comes packaged in tape and reel and is compatible with standard reflow techniques, with a maximum allowable temperature of 260°C.
