New hybrid connectors for disposable medical devices

To complement its LUC (limited use connector) series specifically designed for disposable medical devices, Fischer Connectors is introducing new hybrid connector configurations. Electrical contacts can now be mixed with fluid/gas contacts or POF (polymer optical fibres) ideal for transmitting light.
Mounted into a hand piece, onto a cable or overmoulded, the LUC series suits many disposable applications, from catheters to surgical hand tools and more. Mateable with high performance Fischer panel and cable receptacles, the cost effective disposable plug allows permanent equipment to keep working with high cycle lifetime receptacles. Parts are capable of withstanding EtO and Gamma sterilisation processes, conforming to the UL/IEC 60601 directives.
Engineered for easy integration of embedded electronics, and now available in hybrid configurations, the LUC series aims to enhance the functionalities of disposable equipment.
