Rotary encoder for hygienic applications

The WDG 58V from Wachendorff is a rotary encoder with an enhanced hygienic design, targeted specifically at applications in the food and beverage industry.

It is Ecolab certified for resistance to cleaning and disinfection agents, and has a protection rating of IP69K.

The encoder is available in resolutions up to 4096 parts per revolution and is capable of operating speeds up to 3600 rpm. The precision ball bearings enable an operating life of 1 billion rotations at the full rated shaft load of 100 Newtons.

Power supply options are available from 5 to 30 V d.c. and available output types are HTL, TTL and RS422. Operating temperature is from -20 to +80°C, while versions are available that operate down to -40°C. The encoder can be supplied with more than 2 metres of cable.
