Mean Well has introduced a new product family - the LPH/LPV/LPC series - designed to meet the demands of LED lighting, decorative lighting, and general high dust and moisture applications. With a non-PFC design, these 18/20/35/60 W AC-DC enclosed type switching power supplies are available for both constant voltage (LPV series) and constant current (LPC series) applications. The units' IP66 rating also protects the internal electronic components against dust and moisture, making them suitable for use in harsh locations.
Using heat-conducting glue and with efficiency as high as 86%, these supplies can operate between -30 and +70°C through free air convection alone. To protect the units from sudden high surges from unstable AC lines, they can withstand a 300 V a.c. input surge for 5 seconds. Other standard functions include short circuit, overload, and over-voltage protection.
Typical applications include moving signs and backlighting, LED-based decorative/architectural lighting, LED stage and theatre lighting, and LED electronic displays.
