8-bit MCU with 64 KB Flash

3 September 2008 DSP, Micros & Memory

Infineon has expanded its 8-bit XC800 microcontroller (MCU) family to provide more scalable performance and up to 64 KB flash memory for cost-sensitive industrial and automotive applications.

Operating at up to 27 MHz with 52 KB and 64 KB Flash memory options and equipped with a 16-bit vector computer, the new XC878 MCUs also implement on-chip PWM timers and a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), making them ideally suited for implementing field-oriented control (FOC) and power factor correction (PFC) at low system cost. They are also designed to enable simplified development of CAN (controller area network) systems through an on-chip MultiCAN interface.

Typical target applications are motor control, airconditioners, pumps and fans, transportation, CAN automation, automotive body systems, and instrumentation.
